Return of FILDA announced for July
The Luanda FILDA International Fair was announced in Luanda from July 26 to 30, under the motto "Diversify the economy and boost national production, aiming at a self-sufficient and exporting Angola".
The announcement was made by the chairman of the board of directors of the Instituto de Fomento Empresarial (IFE), Dalva Ringote Allen, at a press conference in which he revealed that the event is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy and organized by Eventos Arena in an area gross of 16 thousand square meters.
Dalva Ringote Allen advanced that the registrations for the exhibitors are open and will go until the 15 of June, with the organization to foresee the participation of 200 national and foreign companies. The organization gives priority to companies in the productive sector, namely agriculture and manufacturing, but this does not mean that other companies can not participate. "We will give priority to the primary sector to allow entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and gather experiences, mainly from foreign companies," he said.
Dalva Ringote Allen has defined FILDA as "a symbol of Angola's economic and social development, a meeting point for national and foreign operators and partners" or "a sample of the capabilities and potential of Angola and an initiative that is imposed on the national, stimulating the increase of the productive capacity and the launching of new economic bridges ".
Bruno Albernaz, from Eventos Arena, said that the fair will be organized by sectors of activity and marks days of countries and a gala of award to the company best represented.
FILDA's implementation was interrupted last year after being transferred from July to November and, at that time, exhibitors' registrations were 75 percent below those of 2015. In that year, about 800 exhibitors participated in the fair, representing 40 countries, most notably Angola, Italy, Germany and Portugal.
Bruno Albernaz considered that, after the interruption, FILDA 2017 will not surpass the other editions, since it will be in a different space (Baía de Luanda) and inferior to the habitual one. "What is wanted is to leverage the activity, because it is an important event that brings different perspectives of business," he said.
The 32nd edition of FILDA, held from July 21 to 26, 2015, generated an estimated turnover of US $ 11 million, resulting from five days of business contacts.
